The Pratapeshwar Temple, built in the early to mid-19th century by Pratap Singh, the second Raja of the Chhatarpur princely state (r. 1816–1854), is the final significant monument at Khajuraho. Unlike the fluid and sensual sculptures characteristic of Chandela-period architecture, the temple diverges from the traditional Khajuraho style. Instead, its design aligns more closely with the architectural aesthetics of the Bundela period.
