Minard Castle, Kerry, Ireland

Minard Castle, situated on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, is an example of a 16th-century Irish tower house, built by the Fitzgeralds who held the title Knight of Kerry. The rectangular structure stands atop a modest hill overlooking Kilmurry Bay and commands panoramic views across the Atlantic to the Iveragh Peninsula. The castle originally may have had four storeys, though today only three stories remain standing.
