Luxor Temple is a renowned ancient temple complex located in the city of Luxor, southern Egypt. Constructed primarily during the New Kingdom (c. 1550–1070 BCE), it is dedicated to the Theban Triad of gods: Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Unlike many other temples, Luxor was not built to honor a specific god or pharaoh but to celebrate the rejuvenation of kingship. It played a central role in the annual Opet Festival, a grand procession where the statues of the gods were transported from Karnak Temple to Luxor Temple along the Avenue of Sphinxes.

The temple was originally built by Amenhotep III (1390–1352 BCE) and later expanded by Ramses II (1279–1213 BCE), who added a grand colonnaded courtyard, two massive pylons, and six colossal statues of himself (only two remain intact today).
