Le Gaschney is a mountain with an altitude of 1011 m in the Vosges mountains. During World War I, the area was the scene of fighting between the French and German armies. On the mountain lie several relics from the war, such as the remains of a French first aid station and the cemetery Germania. The shelter in the image is a former French post. According to sources, the post was used between 1915 and 1918 by the generals d’Armeau and de Pouydraguin .
