The remains of the Caserne Marceau lie northeast of the city of Verdun. The barracks housed the soldiers who manned the forts around Verdun. In World War I, during the Battle of Verdun in 1916, the Caserne Marceau was almost completely destroyed.

Today, all that remains are two water towers, concrete foundations and the outer walls of some barracks. The remains are on private land and are no longer accessible.
