Hartmannswillerkopf, also known as Vieil Armand, is a World War I battlefield located in the Vosges Mountains of Alsace, France. The mountain saw continuous fighting from late 1914 to 1918, but the most intense battles occurred between 1915 and 1916. On the slope of the mountain lie the remains of the small French cemetery Bonnegoutte.
An inventory from 1920 showed that this cemetery contained 62 soldiers, including 6 Germans. After the war, the bodies were reburied in other cemeteries. A monument of the 6th Battalion of Chasseurs is the most tangible remnant of the former cemetery.
