Bomb Crater Volenbeek

Along the railway line between Putten and Ermelo, at the height of the Volenbeek, there are several bomb craters visible in the landscape. The craters are the remains of bombardments that were carried out by the allied air forces, especially from September 1944. The railway line across the Veluwe was an important logistical connection line for the German occupier between the occupied Netherlands and Germany.
