World War II Hall of Memories

The Auckland War Memorial Museum, also known as Tamaki Paenga Hira, was opened in 1929. The museum was established to commemorate the monumental losses New Zealand suffered during World War I and to serve as a place of remembrance for all those from the Auckland province who died in military conflicts. The museum features impressive stained glass windows that contribute significantly to its commemorative atmosphere. These windows are particularly prominent in the museum's World War II Hall of Memories and other memorial areas, where they serve both an aesthetic and a symbolic function.
