The Agra Fort, also known as Qila Agra or Agra's Red Fort, is a historic fortress located in the city of Agra. Mughal Emperor Humayun was crowned here in 1530, marking its early significance. Later, Emperor Akbar began its extensive renovation in 1565, with the current structure completed in 1573. Serving as the primary residence of Mughal rulers, the fort remained the heart of the empire until 1638, when the Mughal capital was moved from Agra to Delhi. Prior to its capture by the British, the fort's last Indian occupants were the Marathas.

Situated on the right bank of the Yamuna River, the fort spans approximately 94 acres and is surrounded by a double-layered wall with a moat. Its architecture blends Islamic, Persian, and Hindu styles, reflecting the rich cultural influences of the Mughal era.
